Employment Opportunity - Mahaska County Assessor’s Office
The Mahaska County Assessor’s Office is taking applications for the position of Sales Data Entry Specialist. This is a full-time, non-exempt, salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Prior experience with real estate, property appraisal, GIS, taxation, legal descriptions and documents, or other government work is beneficial.
Daily requirements will include:
• Multi-tasking and prioritizing workload
• Analyzing and entering assessment and property sales data into appraisal and taxation software
• Administering property tax credits and exemptions for property owners
• Gathering and collecting assessment-related data for use in analysis
• Creating internal and external reports for the assessor and the public
• Working with multiple government agencies
• Other general clerical duties
This position will serve the public daily, therefore a helpful attitude and the ability to handle confrontation in a professional manner is necessary. Applicants possessing extreme organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent memory recall, excellent computer skills, and a cooperative attitude and willingness to advance in the assessment field will be the most successful in this position.
