Job Description

The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Deputy Sheriff(s). All minimum ILEA hiring standards apply. The hiring process will include a physical fitness test, oral interview, MMPI testing and POST testing, as well as a thorough background check. ILEA Certified Officers with break in employment as a Law Enforcement Officer for 180 days or longer will be required to pass the ILEA physical fitness standards and the MMPI. Out-of-State certified applicants will be required to get ILEA certification through examination in Iowa. 

Job Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Must be of good moral character.

Job Hours

Work hours will vary.
Shifts will rotate.
Some weekend and holiday shifts required.
