Job Description

Candidates must be able to perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance of the facilities and grounds for Mahaska County. The work is of routine difficulty, involving lifting and moving heavy objects and equipment and operating housekeeping equipment and keep the premises in a clean and orderly condition.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to;
•Cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, corridors, stairways, and other work areas.
•Cleaning/polishing/dusting lighting fixtures, trim, metalwork, furniture, equipment, walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
•Vacuuming and shampooing rugs, carpet, and upholstered furniture.
•Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and/or polishes floors.
•Cleans and maintains rest rooms.
•Collects and transports trash.
•Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment.Mahaska County is accepting applications for a part time custodian.

Job Requirements

Applicant will be required to vacuum, mop, dust, clean restrooms, wash windows, etc. Applicant will have to consent to a background check.

Must possess a valid Iowa driver’s license and be insurable under the county’s guidelines.

Job Hours

Hours will be from 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Monday-Friday (20 hours per week).
